Carlos Manuel Baráibar Tovar is a Founding Partner of Baráibar & Asociados, S.C. firm specializing in strategic litigation, complex criminal defense and constitutional advice.

With more than 23 years of jurisdictional experience within the Federal Judiciary, he participated directly in the preparation of more than 450 draft judgments and jurisprudential criteria for the First Chamber and the Plenary of the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation. He served as President of the College of Secretaries and Secretaries of Study and Account of the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation and was a member of the Advisory Committee of the Center for Constitutional Studies of the High Court.

He is an avid negotiator, mediator, and prominent criminal lawyer, with specialized experience in aggravated crimes, early release, abbreviated procedure, adequate defense, and the principle of immediacy. His technical knowledge and understanding of the inner workings of jurisdictional institutions allow him to design high-impact strategic defenses and procedural anticipation.

He is the co-author of the book New Criminal Justice System in its interaction with the means of constitutional control (Tirant lo Blanch), a reference work in the analysis of the accusatory penal model and its relationship with the mechanisms of constitutional control.

 

During the context of the 2024 judicial reform, he led critical stances against the initiative, while defending the institutional continuity of the High Court, calling for the preservation of the jurisdictional function and the commitment to the administration of justice even in complex scenarios.

      Jorge Arriaga Chan Temblador is the Managing Partner of Civil, Commercial and Labor Lawsuits at Baráibar & Asociados, S.C. and is part of a team of high-level lawyers, with solid training and experience within the Federal Judiciary, including his performance as Secretary of Study and Account of the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation in the presentation of Mr. Minister Jorge Mario Pardo Rebolledo.

      He has over 20 years of jurisdictional experience as an actuary and secretary in various federal courts of different subjects, which allowed him to develop a comprehensive vision of litigation, the internal functioning of jurisdictional bodies and the procedural strategy in highly complex matters.

      Before joining the firm, he consolidated a brilliant stage within the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation, experience that today translates into a technical, structured and highly strategic approach in the conduct of civil, commercial and labor litigation.
